It
began as a simplified version of a grandmother's recipe, and turned
into a sweet smelling global sensation. In 1985, Restaurants Unlimited
hired Bainbridge Island, WA resident Jerilyn Brusseau to create a
recipe for the perfect cinnamon roll. After three months, and 1,000
attempts, the now famous Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll was introduced through
its first location in Seattle's Sea Tac Mall.
The company quickly began franchising in 1986, opened its first
international location in 1987, and celebrated its 500th bakery in
September 2001. Today, Cinnabon bakeries range in size from 400 to
1,200 square feet, and are found in malls, airports, travel plazas,
hospitals, casinos, universities, train stations, and theme parks
worldwide. Bakeries are also found in a number of different formats and
in a wide variety of locations, including a mobile bakery stand, kiosk,
and street side.
Now a division of FOCUS Brands, Cinnabon is poised for growth as the
cinnamon roll craze continues around the globe. Because our bakeries
are modern versions of the traditional neighborhood bakery, our guests
are always guaranteed unique and delicious treats in a warm and
friendly atmosphere - just like grandmother used to make.
